In Zendesk, you can control which agents have access to Agent Status Automation using group restrictions. Agents with access appear on the app's Agents page and count toward your seats, so group restrictions also help ensure you're only billed for agents who need access to the app.
Enable group restrictions
- If you're installing the app for the first time, you'll see its installation settings in Zendesk during checkout. If the app is already installed, go to Zendesk Admin Center > Apps and integrations > Zendesk Support apps > Agent Status Automation.
- Check Enable group restrictions? and select the groups that should have access to the app. Make sure you're also a member of at least one selected group; otherwise, you won't be able to access and configure the app.
- Do not re-enter your billing details. They are not required to update group restrictions. Zendesk shows the Billing details form only to provide an updated price estimate. Click Update to save your changes.
We generally recommend group restrictions instead of role restrictions. Groups are easier to manage and give you more flexibility over which agents have access.
Add or remove agents
Once group restrictions are enabled, you usually don't need to change the app's installation settings again. To give an agent access, add them to one of the selected groups in Zendesk. To remove access, remove them from all selected groups.
Sync your changes
After making changes in Zendesk, go to the Agents page in Agent Status Automation and click Sync with Zendesk.
Seat counts are updated once a day, so billing will reflect your changes the following day.
